Dog-friendly accommodation
At Le Ventoulou campsite, dogs are welcome in all rentals and pitches, whether you choose a cottage, an unusual rental, a mobile home or a bare pitch. All you need to bring is a vaccinated and identified dog with its health record.
To facilitate your stay, many of our cottages feature large, fully enclosed terraces, ideal for letting your companion rest in safety. This is the case for some cottages in Premium villages such as Les P’tits Quercynois or Les Étoiles Occitanes, but also for more spacious models such as Route de la Noix or Martel.
Each range offers a different level of comfort (Premium, Privilège, Confort or Classique), but all allow you to spend your vacation in complete peace of mind, without having to give up traveling with your dog. From the most economical to the most upmarket, everyone can choose the solution that’s right for them, while enjoying the best possible accommodation!

Rules for a worry-free stay with your dog
To ensure that every holidaymaker enjoys the peace and quiet of our campsite, there are a few simple rules to follow when bringing your dog to our fishing campsite in the Dordogne. They guarantee the comfort and safety of everyone, people and animals alike, while allowing you to travel without constraints.
- 2 dogs maximum per pitch or rental unit.
- All dogs are welcome, whatever their size or category.
- A health record is required, with an identified and vaccinated dog.
- Dogs must not be left alone in the accommodation or on the pitch.
- Droppings must be collected; bags are provided.
- Dogs must remain under their owner’s supervision on the campsite.
These rules ensure your pet’s well-being while respecting other holidaymakers and campsite staff. What dog-friendly activities are available around the campsite?
Staying at our dog-friendly campsite also means discovering the Dordogne Valley with your dog. Many activities and visits are accessible on leash, so you can share real experiences together. Between villages, nature and original outings, the region offers many ideas to enjoy with your companion.
Must-do activities with your dog :
- Visit Rocamadour: the famous medieval town is open to dogs on a leash. Access requires climbing 216 steps, so remember to carry small dogs or to be gentle with older ones. Religious buildings are not accessible to pets.
- Hiking around the Parc naturel régional des Causses du Quercy: a number of adapted walks, including the La Pierre et l’Eau trail (6 km) and the 3 gouffres loop (8 km).
- Grottes de Presque: this tourist site accepts dogs on a lead and has been awarded the Qualidog label.
- Swimming on a wild beach at Lacave: possibility to swim with your dog, unsupervised area.
- Canoeing on the Dordogne: some bases allow dogs, notably Vayrac, Saint-Sosy and Argentat.
- Parc Le Rocher des Aigles: dogs allowed on leash, even during raptor shows, provided they are calm.
A few key sites are off-limits to dogs: Grotte des Merveilles, Forêt des Singes and Gouffre de Padirac. To help you visit these sites without restrictions, our dog-friendly campsite offers a day-care service for dogs, provided by professional Patch-Guard staff.
